Silver Package: Short, Simple and Focused!

This is the introductory level of our in home training. It is a 1-one hour in-home private session. We typically cover how to get your dog to pay attention using Resource Control/Hand Feeding techniques. We also teach how to institute Non-Negotiable Rules along with new routines. The goal is to get back to rewarding what we like and redirecting what we don’t. We specifically will work on door skills and how to greet house guests the right way. Let’s face it, if your dog can not pay attention to you within the four walls of your own home, then why would you think he/she would be able to do so in a group class, on a walk or when dealing with any other distractions!

As with any of our services you can upgrade to the next level for just the price difference between the two… So, no pressure start small and feel free to upgrade if necessary!!!

Total package cost: $130.00.

Please read and review the following before pre-paying any services or classes:

  • Please review the FAQ and Fine Print sections of the site before making a decision to pre-purchase any training options.
  • If you are looking for a specific class, time or date for training do not pre-pay without contacting our office (913-269-7595) to see if the times, dates and classes are still available.
  • If you have any discounts at all, please do not pre-pay. There is not a way to account for these and pre-pay. Instead contact our office and we can send you an invoice that accurately includes your discounts.

Gold Package: I Need Some Accountability Help!

Once we have the basics of paying attention under our belt the Gold package takes us to the next level of training. Welcome to Leash and Recall (coming when called) skills. We will work not only with regular leashes, but also hands-free setups and lung lines. If necessary we will discuss the different no pull devices and weigh out the pros and cons of each.  This session comes with 3- one hour in home private sessions, so there is plenty of time to practice and get follow up with the trainer on the things that might need some extra coaching! This package has all the follow up and support you need.

As with any of our services you can upgrade to the next level for just the price difference between the two… So, no pressure start small and feel free to upgrade if necessary!!!

The Platinum package adds two more one hour private in-home sessions for a total of 5 and we use them to work in the outside world; parks, dog friendly stores even dog friendly events. Kids and K9’s!

Class taught at Shawnee Mission Medical Center

You made it through the pregnancy and infancy but now the family dog is having to deal with a child who is mobile! Many times, the real interaction issues with dogs and kids occur when a child’s mobility and independence develop. As parents, we need to make sure we know 100 percent of what can be expected from not only the family dog but also from the children. The more prepared we are the better the experience will be!

Kids and K9s is a class where we teach the following:

  • Things to never do with a dog!
  • Stuff to consider when talking about dog bites
  • Basic rules and routines for both the dogs and the kids
  • Importance of owning a dog?
  • Basics of dog learning.

The purpose of this class is to give you, the parents or caregivers of the family dog, the tools to institute rules, routines and management practices that will keep both the children and the family dog happy, healthy and safe.

Dog Walking for Additional Training

These walks are designed as a supplement to training you have already gotten with Kiss Dog Training. I will come to your house and get your dog and go for a 30-minute walk and work on one of three skills: Recall or Come When Called, Not Pulling on Leash or an Advanced Skills Walk. You can sign up for as many walks as you like but it must come after the skills have been taught to you and your family. This is my way of helping busy families keep up to speed with practice and to also help with energy level of the dogs! Please call 913-269-7595 for scheduling details or questions.

  • Recall/Come When Called Walk
Practice on long line and work on coming back, sitting and releasing back, so dog gets used to (normalizing) his/her home area… All the while reinforcing, coming when called is fun and rewarding!
  • Leash Skill/Pulling
Done on a hands free set up. Stopping on each pull, getting dog to come back sit, wait patiently and then continue the walk… Teaching pull equals no walk and loose leash equals the walk continues, not to mention fun and treats.
  • Advanced Skills Walk
A walk, on long line, where we stop every 20 feet and ask for a different skill. Skills included; sit, down, watch me, three-point place with stays. Also work with distance and distraction for sit or down with a circle… This walk is to work more advanced dogs wanting to work and  keep skills fresh and also to help wear out the brain.

Total package cost: $30.00.
